Spring 2026 Registration Begins *Monday, November 17th, 2025
The Spring 2026 Semester Begins Tuesday, January 20th, 2026
*Enrollment Appointment Time
Each semester, students are assigned an Enrollment Appointment Time by the University Registrar's Office. An Enrollment Appointment Time is the time at which you can begin registering for classes. Appointment dates and times are based on the Eastern Time zone. Appointments are prioritized by earned credit amount (excluding credits in progress). The Enrollment Appointment Time is not set by the Schack staff, and Schack cannot adjust the time.
Please check your enrollment appointment time in Albert.
Schack does not offer Online degrees; as such, most classes are held in person with minimal fully online options. Our Synchronous (LIVE) online courses require you to be logged in to Brightspace with a webcam and microphone during the scheduled course time. In-person classes do NOT have a remote attendance option; you must attend your classes in person. NOTE: NYU does NOT require its faculty to record their classes.
Note: The Schack Advising Office does not manage the deferral policy or process. For questions, please email sps.admissions@nyu.edu
In order to defer your enrollment, you must first accept your admissions offer in the Reply Form on the online application portal and submit your tuition deposit. Once you have accepted the offer, you will see the "Click here to Contact Your Advisor" link on the right. After you select the option to contact your advisor, you will then be able to view the deferral request. Follow all of the instructions on the page to defer your enrollment.
Admitted students can only defer their enrollment once and only up to one year from their original term of acceptance. For example, if you were admitted to the Spring 2026 term, you can either defer to Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
Deferral requests are accepted for the following reasons:
Military obligation
Personal health circumstances or health circumstances of an immediate family member
Financial or employment circumstances are typically not considered exceptional circumstances for admission deferral.
Applicants who are not approved for a deferral may request their application materials be moved to the next admissions cycle, and the application fee will be waived.
Deferral Deadlines
Summer Term: May 8
Fall Term: August 1
Spring Term: January 15
*Students who wish to defer will be required to re-apply after the deadlines listed above. The request form will close after the deadlines. Please email sps.admissions@nyu.edu should you have any questions.
Once you submit your request, it will be reviewed by the Office of Admissions.
