NYU students register for classes using Albert, NYU’s online student information system.
Enrollment Appointment Day and Time: Each semester, students are assigned an Enrollment Appointment Time by the University Registrar's office. An Enrollment Appointment Time is the time at which you can begin registering for classes. Appointment dates and times are based on the Eastern Time zone. Appointments are prioritized by earned credit amount (excluding credits in progress). The Enrollment Appointment Time is not set by the Schack staff, and Schack cannot adjust the time.
Please check your enrollment appointment time in Albert: Check your enrollment appointment day and time by signing into your Student Center and clicking on "details" in the "Enrollment Dates" section.
See the Academic Calendar for when the Schedule of Classes will be available and when Registration begins (check Albert for your individual registration appointment time)

Things to note about the waitlist:
Once a class is closed, you can add yourself to the waitlist using Albert. If a seat opens in the class, the first person on the waitlist is automatically enrolled.
Being on a waitlist does not guarantee enrollment. So you should always be prepared to enroll in another course as a backup.
Keep in mind that not all classes offer a waitlist option, and waitlists may become full.
No confirmation is sent, so you are responsible for checking your status on Albert to see if you’ve been enrolled. It is important that you check to see if you are off the waitlist and in the course so that you attend all classes for which you are registered and so you can drop courses before you miss the window for tuition refunds.
When a seat in a class becomes available, the student at the top of the list is automatically enrolled in the class, and everyone moves up a spot.
Additionally, if you are on the waitlist for a class, you should set up an edit swap so that if you are taken off the waitlist for a class and enrolled, a class you are enrolled in can be dropped. The Edit swap allows you to add yourself to the waitlist without losing your seat in your enrolled class.
Even if seats open up, you will not be enrolled in a class off a waitlist if:
1. The meeting time conflicts with another class in which you are currently enrolled.
2. You are already enrolled in another section of the same class.
3. The credit units from the waitlisted course will put you above your maximum credit limit for the term.
If you try to enroll in another open section of the same course that you are already waitlisted for, you will be automatically dropped from the waitlisted section. To avoid this, first enroll in the open section, and then set up a swap for the waitlisted section.
You are not permitted to attend a course you are not officially enrolled in.
Please note that Schack instructors do not manage course enrollment, requisites, or the registration process; thus, they cannot override or waive any policies. You have until the add/drop period to make changes to your schedule. Please make sure to always check the NYU Calendar for deadlines.
