Incoming Student Registration

Suggested First Semester Schedule

(Most students enroll in 16-18 credits. Remember, the number of credits you take and how you map out your schedule impacts financial aid, international student visas, and other aspects of your status, so do make note.)

First semester (fall) students must take:

INTE-UE 1010, Introducation to Global Education (4credits)

• You will be manually enrolled in this course

SAHS-UE 1, New Student Seminar (0 credit)

• You will be manually enrolled in this course

• This is a zero credit, pass/fail course that is a graduation requirement for NYU Steinhardt

Expository Writing (4 credits)

• Students must take either EXPOS-UA 1, Writing the Essay or EXPOS-UA 4, International Writing Workshop

• Check with your advisor about which of these courses you should take

The remaining 8 credits should be one of the following options:

• Natural Science

• Foreign Language

• Expressive Culture

• Cultures and Contexts

Please also note that if you have AP/IB scores, you should discuss with your advisor to see which requirements those fulfill.

Transfer Students First Semester Schedule:

• If you have questions check with your advisor about which of these courses you should take

Lifting Your Hold

Incoming Students must complete the Online Orientation Portal. Once you have completed the portal, your advisor will receive notification that your hold can be lifted.
