Apology

One of the hardest things to do is take responsibility for a mistake you made, but it is a big part of becoming an adult

When you regret something you did that affect another person, an apology can be a difficult conversation to have.

Think about what you would want to apologize for, and then practice how you will show that you take responsibility for it and have learned a lesson.

Dr. Marie Fang's 5-Step Apology

  • Name specifically what you did that was incorrect or hurtful

  • Acknowledge how what you did affected the other person

  • Set an intention to move in a particular direction in the future

  • Identify what steps you will take to move toward that intention

  • Make a plan for the next time to improve communication and rebuild trust
