In your course, click the Gradebook tab on the course navigation bar.
In the Gradebook, click the Gradebook Settings Gear icon.
On the Gradebook Settings panel, scroll down to the bottom. Under "Course Rubrics", click Create.
Type in the name of the rubric.
Select the type of rubric (percentage, points, etc.) in the drop down for "Rubric Type".
Update the criteria (rows) and the achievement levels (columns) as well as the descriptions (cells).
Click Save.
The rubric will appear on the Gradebook Settings panel under "Course Rubrics".
You will then need to associate that rubric with a gradable item in your course by going to the assignment, discussion, or journal page.
Select the Settings icon.
On the Settings panel, in the Additional Tools section, click Add grading rubric.
Click Add next to the rubric you want to use.
Click Save.
