Go to https://screenpal.com/. To use the free tool, click on the Record for Free button. [Note: NSCC has a Pro version, which provides additional features. Contact the CTLI for more information.]
Click Launch free recorder (download and install the software.)
Click WebLaunchRecorder.exe to start.
When the window opens, choose to record the screen, webcam, or both.
You can record up to 15 min at a time (the Pro version allows unlimited time.)
Tip: Consider creating your lecture in 10- 15 minute segments (micro lectures).
Drag or resize the window frame to fit the window you would like to record.
Click the arrow next to Narration to select your microphone in order to narrate your video.
Click Record to begin. Use pause as necessary. When finished, use the Done button to stop the recording.
Choose to save your video as a video file (MP4). You can then upload it and embed it in your Blackboard course using Kaltura.
