All NSCC Blackboard course sites are closed (unavailable) to students by default. Instructors need to open the course site (make it available) at the start of each semester in order for enrolled students to access it.
In Blackboard, click on Courses to access your course list.
Click on the More Options (***) icon. to the right of the course title. If you are viewing the courses as tiles, you will need to hover over the course image to access the More Options icon.
Select Open Course.
Confirm by clicking Open to Students.
Alternative Method
You can also open a course to students from within your course site.
Click Course Settings (top right).
Edit the Course Duration, select either Terms or Dates (under Type) to set course display dates.
Click Save.
You will need to refresh the Base Navigation Courses page when you go back to it for the availability change to be reflected there.
At End of Semester
Instructors need to close the course site (make it unavailable) at the end of each semester in order for enrolled students to no longer have access to it.
In Blackboard, click on Courses to access your course list.
Click on the More Options (***) icon. to the right of the course title. If you are viewing the courses as tiles, you will need to hover over the course image to access the More Options icon.
Select Course settings.
Under Course Status, select the radio button next to Closed.
Click the purple X in the top left corner to return to Courses.
