As you create documents for students, you will want to ensure that they are accessible to all students. One of the best ways to make sure your Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files are accessible is to utilize the built-in Accessibility Checker.
Using the Accessibility Checker in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2019 (and newer)
In your document or presentation, select the "Review" tab and then "Check Accessibility".
The Accessibility Checker task pane will appear to the right of your content and will show the inspection results. These results will list any parts of the document or presentation that needs to be addressed in regard to accessibility.
To see information on why and how to fix any issue, click on the issue under Inspection Results. The results will appear under Additional Information.
Follow the directions in the Steps to Fix section to address the issue.
Close the Accessibility Checker task pane when done.
