Engage students in sharing ideas about class materials asynchronously through discussions.
Click on the learning module that needs the discussion to expand it.
Click the Plus (+) icon nested in the learning module and then select Create.
Under Create Item, select Discussion.
Give the discussion a name.
The discussion page provides a text editor where you will add the discussion prompt. Click Save.
For Discussion Settings, click the gear icon to select settings for the discussion. If you are grading the discussion be sure to select the Grade discussion box. More grading options will become available. You have option to set the Due Date for the first post as well a Second Due Date for replies. Review and change the additional settings as needed. Click Save.
Adjust the availability of the discussion. It is unavailable to students by default
Click the X icon to exit the discussion page that you just created.
