The NPS Technology Help Desk phone number is 366-0536. Their hours are 8:00 to 4:00.
MacBook Air laptops are used in grades 6th-12th. All classroom teachers receive a MacBook, which has more admin level permissions than the student MacBooks. Teachers can mirror their MacBook screen through Apple TV.
All secondary students in grades 6th-12th receive their own MacBook. In grades 7 -12 students can take their laptop home each day. MacBooks can be used offline, and many installed programs do not require the internet.
All secondary schools have a full-time on-site Innovative Learning Coach (ILC), and a Technology Services Site Tech staff. ILCs are available to assist teachers with instructional issues and Canvas course design. Site Techs help with device and network problems.
At elementary schools, Technology Services support staff provide technical support as assigned through IncidentIQ work tickets. ILCs from the secondary schools provide regular training, and customized training upon request.
The MacBook Air laptop is filtered through the district's Lightspeed filter while at school and also outside of the district. The laptops can be traced if lost or stolen. Teacher MacBooks have a slightly different image than student MacBooks (teachers can download and install software). The NPS MacBook Kiosk has a selection of programs that teachers and students can easily install.
