Newsela: Access educationally focused current events, science, and history content for classrooms. Select from 5 reading levels, with some titles in Spanish. NPS secondary teachers have access to Newsela PRO. Integrates with Google Classroom.

FlipGrid: Set up and manage private and moderated classroom video discussions.

PBS Learning Media: Access thousands of standards-aligned digital resources and multimedia lessons. Integrates with Google Classroom.

Padlet: Set up online collaborative bulletin boards that include text, photos, videos and audio. Login with Google.

Blendspace: Create or find lessons which combine web sites, videos, PDFs, Google Docs, graphics, quizzes, discussion questions, and more in a board/grid format. Teacher can track student use and quiz results. Login with Google account.

EdPuzzle: Use YouTube and Vimeo videos to develop lessons with text notes, audio notes, multiple choice and short answer questions. Track student views and question responses. Integrates with Google Classroom.

Kahoot: Set up simple interactive online quizzes and competitions.

Quizziz: Create interactive, collaborative quiz review games with avatars, leaderboards, memes, and teacher reports. Login with Google.

Socrative: Set up online quizzes, Space Race team games, and exit tickets using multiple choice, true/false, and short answer questions.

Quizlet: Create word lists for spelling, vocabulary, and concept. Use the word lists in a variety of practice and game formats. Use and remix other lists, track student use and achievement. Integrates with Google Classroom.

AnswerGarden: Collaboratively create word clouds online in real time. Great for brainstorming, quick feedback, discussion starters. Teachers can moderate, edit and block responses if they sign in with their email and set a password. No login required.

Canva: Create digital and print products such as flyers, banners, cards, infographics, newsletters, collages and more. Login with Google.

Piktochart: Create digital and print infographics, reports, and presentations. Login with Google.

Powtoons: Create animated videos and presentations. Login with Google.

Digital Textbooks

Some subjects have online versions of the course textbook. The titles marked with an asterisk* require internet access to view. The titles marked with a (D) can be downloaded to the MacBook and used offline. A few titles allow you to download audio and/or video. The MacBook can be set to read any text (text to speech) through the Accessibility features.

Most titles require students to use an access code or password. Course teachers will demonstrate for students how to access their course online textbook, and how to download.
