This album is made of so many pieces of our students' work, it's hard to know where to begin. From the stickers that adorn the packaging, designed by Ace McConnell, to the cover artwork, drawn by Petar Gery and expertly finalized by Kourtney Keller, to the poster selection and center label design, crafted by Gabriela Mujica, Harmony Hoffman, and Liam Whittle, to the local record press willing to remain working during this trying time in order to press a random assortment of marbleized vinyl records for our students in "record" time, and finally donating factory re-sealable envelopes and lovingly packaging each copy, before the allotted deadline. I'm almost speechless, but I do have to remark on how powerful the group effort was: when push came to shove and this year bottomed out for so many of the artists who contributed, the true value in recording to a physical medium that can be shared forever, was proven by the process. Now, we can hold an artifact from each one of these students as a time capsule for how music felt to the most influential generation directly before the world changed due to Covid-19. I want to thank every colleague, musician, and graphic designer who made this album possible; we can finally rest assured that we'll have a beautiful way to remember this year, and a hopeful message from our NOCCA students about what we can expect from the future.
