Zelvin Collins' birthday is on September 2, 2003. His mom is a school teacher that is also an author while his father is a pastor. When Zelvin was five years old he took Karate lessons at Blue Lion Academy by the legendary Master O'neal and he quit once he became a yellow belt because he kept throwing temper tantrums in class. Once he started kindergarten he met his first girlfriend whose mom was a police officer. He started taking drum lessons at LAAPA so that he could keep himself busy. In second grade, Zelvin won the honor roll and broke up with his girlfriend. Zelvin loves animals and noodles so much. He had two pet turtles named Shiloh and Jack but they were viciously eaten by a squirrel and a cat. He won a fish at a fair in Lafayette, Louisiana but his fishes kept dying for no reason. Some creepy lady with green eyes gave Zelvin art lessons in the second grade. Zelvin started learning how to draw cats and human faces ever since but he is still not that great at it so it's just a very small hobby. His mother is wonderful at drawing though. Zelvin won class president in the seventh grade. He joined the school band as well but everyone didn't get along well and the band director made everyone do pushups so he left. Zelvin is also scared of roaches. Once he turned eleven he had quit taking drum lessons and started freestyling. By the time he was twelve, he started making his own beats and at thirteen years old he was introduced to Upbeat Academy and now he is at NOCCA. When Zelvin grows up he wants to be a rapper, producer, author, and a actor. When he retires, he wants to be a comedian and make beats for the rest of his life. In 2048, Zelvin Collins will run for president against Martin Luther King's grand daughter.

This was around time that most of my creative flows came naturally. I would think less and do more, this song is similar to another song that I created in a similar way called Dream Girl except that people never pay attention to this one. I produced this song and the lyrics naturally came, I wasn't focused on the skillsets or the techniques of making the song. I was more concerned on the fundamentals of music making in general. I like to have fun with my music instead of overthinking it no matter the outcome of it. The beat consists of a high pass and low pass filter of a guitar sample found in Ableton. The piano is a repeated chord progression of three C Major chords in a higher octave and as so as the keys for the melody. The drums are just a simple Lo-fi loop throughout the entire song, perhaps I say.

This song best portrays the collaborative world of my creativity. When I was a younger artist, there were older rappers that I personally looked up to and now that I am older with experience of rapping for seven complete years I'm starting to see younger rappers look up to me wanting to do songs with me. I used to want to collaborate with artists for popularity but now I don't need that anymore because I value the talent instead, since more genuine support comes from it. Throughout my whole experience as an MC I've been getting negative criticism or hate from fans ever since the beginning and rapping about it didn't solve anything but support from other artists helped me to channel the negative energy out. I produced this beat in a student teacher class by Wyatt Pinto and Sam from sweetheart at NOCCA. I produced three beats in total during their class without even listening to their instruction but they understood. I could make any type of rap beat that I chose to make because I am a percussion based producer and I understand percussion a lot even though I'm not the best drummer. It's sad to say that I won't be able to drum battle Rodney anytime soon. I look up to a lot of people at NOCCA, including people that graduated, and they inspire me to keep moving forward including some of the teachers. Once I came to NOCCA I learned a lot of things outside my craft about the industry for the creative field both by myself and from Mr. Ceponis or Mr. Webb. I'm so busy with my craft at home that students that use the studio more than me are always pushing me to use the studio more because they either want me to get help or want me to collaborate with them. I inspired so many people that some of my song ideas pour into other people's song ideas which is why artists want to do songs with me or a band names a song after their favorite song of mines. I'm still learning everyday, listening to rap albums on spotify everyday, listening to battle raps everyday, freestyling once a week, and writing raps whenever ideas kick in. I may not be the best artist that I know but I'm working all the time to be able to say that I am because I only want to be a genuine inspiration to others. My main goal is to become talented so that it could affect other people's talent so that I could make talent outshine the world. I am the Black Lightning of the music world because I want to build a family of heroes.
