Astrid Sims

I am Astrid Sims, and I am an artist. I like to express my love for art through film, music, and visual art. In the very near future, I would like to have my own production company and art museum to exhibit student and local artwork. Everyday I work to achieve those goals. I am glad to have NOCCA as a school and resource to help nurture my skills.

President Honors- Aria Iuso

This piece is my favorite work of the 2019-2020 school year. I remember being excited to do this project since before I came to NOCCA when I attended one of the President Honors ceremonies a couple of years ago. When the time came for my co-director and I to make one, we knew that we wanted to make a great film to honor the chosen student to the best of our ability. It was very fun working with our subject, Aria Iuso, to help tell her story. I am glad to now have a film that will go down in NOCCA history.

The Happiest Moments of Debra Brazley

This was the first project I completed during the quarantine.The Elders Project was an assignment of interviewing an elder in your life and asking them about their happiest moments. I interviewed my grandmother. I used pictures and footage of my grandmother, her children, and grandchildren over the years. I am truly happy to have this as a gift to my grandmother.
