Photography is my way of living in the moment. The craft allows me to capture what I believe to be hope in each frame. It's more than a way to express myself, it's a meditation not a hobby. Photography is what connects me to both my subjects and the natural world around me. Instead of having to explain how feel on the inside, i can manipulate and bend the colors and light in an image to fit my creative desire. Rather me searching for beauty I utilize the beauty that already exist within a frame. Photography has become something I find myself doing even without a camera, being able to memorize a scenery and finding something similar to the vision i have in mind. The craft of photography has latched on me ever since I can recall the events of hurricane Katrina that wiped out most of the memories my family held on to through photos. Since then I have become motivated to continuously snap pictures, not just for the enjoyment of it but to capture the little things, subtle expressions or even the overlooked things. When editing my selections I made sure to choose the images that had unique lighting, shadows, expressions and framing quality. Each image has its exposure boosted to reveal the subjects within the frames. Once I could see what story the frames have to offer I use the brush tool to bring the contrast, highlights and exposure down to bring attention to the subject in the frame. The selections themselves is my attempt at highlighting the hope, and subtle beauty within my field of vision. Another way I try to capture my creative vision in the photos is by framing each shot that will guide the viewer to stare at the subjects of the photos.
