My current position is the Director of Instructional Technology for Northwest ISD. Leadership responsibilities include:
Support Executive Director of Technology Division and meet regularly with the Director of Technology and Director of Data Services
Evaluate, hire, and manage the instructional technology team
Coordinate with central office departments to align shared district vision, mission, and goals
Support and implement aspects of the district long-range technology plan
Design and complete special projects as needed by district leadership
My position was the Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Northwest ISD. Leadership responsibilities include:
Support Director of Instructional Technology as part of the IT leadership team
Manage and coordinate activities of the campus-based instructional technologists
Coordinate with curriculum and instruction to align shared district vision, mission, and goals
Support and implement aspects of the district long-range technology plan
Design and complete special IT projects as needed by the IT Director or the district CTO
Instructional Technologists are considered campus leaders and coaches in addition to performing their regular duties. Leadership duties include:
working as an extension of the Instructional Technology department to implement district technology initiatives and IT goals
assisting campus leaders in modeling technology and implementing both district and campus initiatives involving technology
provide district and campus training for teachers, departments, staff meetings, etc.
acting as a Moodle learning management system administrator
collaborating with curriculum coaches to effectively assess educator needs and provide support
My second year at Northwest High School I served as the Science Department Chair. Department chairs are part of the campus leadership team and have an array of duties, such as:
encourage and support teachers as both an instructional resource and all around problem-solver
act as liaison between administration and department teachers
hold monthly department meetings to deliver lessons and information from administration/district
serve as part of campus improvement and leadership committee and attend weekly meetings
oversee, regulate, and maintain department budget while creating and submitting all purchase requests
attended Lead4Ward training and Administrator Academy prior to the school year to develop campus administrative goals and initiatives
During the 2016-2017 the Instructional Technology Team was invited to be a part of the District Professional Learning Team. We:
collaborated with curriculum and instruction as well as other district leaders to address areas of need and superintendent goals
explored and analyzed current available professional development in the district
performed a needs analysis of professional development to identify necessary changes and additions
utilized Tips and Tools training techniques to improve existing professional development courses
contributed to the development of the NISD Professional Learning Framework for future use
I was chosen as a representative from the IT Team to undergo NISD Ambassador training this year. NISD partners with Friends of Texas Public Schools to provide Ambassador training to select NISD employees and community members to:
provide a deeper understanding of the importance and community presence of Texas Public Schools
promote the vision of the school district as a positive presence both on and off campus
honor and recognize NISD employees and their hard work
Following my first school year at NISD I became a curriculum writer for Chemistry curriculum. Responsibilities included:
being self-motivated and able to accomplish writing work over the summer without supervision
analyzing and assessing exam data from the previous year to plan new lessons and interventions to target low performance objectives
integrating new learning models and lesson plans into the chemistry curriculum
writing and editing exams to be used on all secondary campuses district-wide
When I worked at the Lewisville Learning Center I was chair of the Sunshine Committee, the campus hospitality group. Duties included:
holding regular meetings with group members
bi-annual collection, management, and allocation of funds
keeping a calendar and planning ahead for numerous events and special recognition days
organizing and facilitating campus-wide events
being an all around cheerful and "sunshiney" presence on campus!
