This page contains the primary resources from institutions that we have used to design and implement our own Blended Learning Program here in NISD. Explore below to see links to and examples of these resources.
Check out the Blended Learning courses we are offering for the 2018-2019 school year on page 17 of our Academic Planning Guide to the right.
If you are an NISD educator, our Google Drive folder of Blended Learning resources for educators can be found here.
Resources from multiple associations and sites already exist that have been utilized to help us build our own program.
Blended Learning resources from Edgenuity Inc. include their own created courses and online programs, some of which we already use in the district for online learning and credit recovery. However, they also include great resources for designing your own Blended Learning environment, including a "Role of the Teacher" primer, a document on "Building Capacity for Blended Learning," and a "Blended Learning Planning Workbook" for facilitating discussion and design considerations as you create your own blended learning courses for your district.
iNACOL (International Association for K-12 Online Learning) is an association that strives to transform education policy and practice to advance powerful, personalized, learner-centered experiences through competency-based, blended and online learning. Their website has a vast array of resources including models for Blended and Personalized Learning, a Blended Learning Teacher Competency Framework, and national standards for digital learning environments which we already use in some of our professional development courses. They also have ongoing webinars and put out regular reports for continued learning.
The Blended Learning Toolkit from University of Central Florida provides, among other things, directions and suggestions for applying the Toolkit resources to create original blended courses. The Do It Yourself Blendkit is particularly helpful for teachers as they design their own courses, outlining and providing resources for each step and the associated tasks needed to create a digital course. They also provide a Blendkit online course for certification.
