The information we collect
The CRNCC collects your personal data on behalf of and as directed by the Department of Health and Social Care.
The CRNCC collects information directly and indirectly. When you use the Sponsor Engagement Tool, we use technology to collect information indirectly - such as your internet address. This is commonplace across all internet services to enable the investigation of issues such as malicious use. This information is then kept in our internet access logs.
We collect information directly from you in a number of ways. One way is by using cookies. Cookies are small files of information that save and retrieve information about your visit to our site, such as how you entered our site, how you navigated through the site and what information was of interest to you. This information is collected for a number of reasons, for example, to help develop the website and associated services.
The cookies we use identify you only as a number. If you are uncomfortable about the use of cookies, you can disable them by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your internet browser. However, disabling cookies may affect our ability to provide services to you: if certain cookies are disabled you may not be able to access the service.
The data collected from you and stored by the Sponsor Engagement Tool will be:
Navigation data – data on how you move around our site and the hyperlinks you click upon
The IP address of your device and, if applicable, the website you originated from
Personal information is limited to your email address
Your Username and password for this system
The system will record any information you provide for the assessment of a study
Your data will be stored by the Sponsor Engagement Tool application.
In addition to data collected from you, the system will retrieve and share with you key items of study data stored by the Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS). In the case of non-commercial studies, this will include the name of the Chief Investigator (CI)
Assessment information that you provide to the Sponsor Engagement Tool will be shared with the Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS) to update the study record. Your identity will be logged in an audit of who made assessments and when they were made. This information is shared with any other contacts from your sponsor organisation or delegated contacts in CRO/CTU organisations.
The personal data we collect may vary depending on the nature of your interaction with CRN. However, we always protect your personal data within the terms of this Privacy Notice.
