Sponsor Engagement Tool (SET) Key Policies

Overview

The Sponsor Engagement Tool allows study sponsors or their delegates in a Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) or Contract Research Organisation (CRO) to make assessments of their study’s progress as required by the  Terms and Conditions for NIHR Clinical Research Network Support.

Key Policies 

Use of the Sponsor Engagement Tool is governed by the Sponsor Engagement Tool Terms and Conditions which apply to all people who use it.

• Anyone using the Sponsor Engagement Tool has signed explicit acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

How an individual's data is used, is governed by a Privacy Notice. 

• Anyone using the Sponsor Engagement Tool has signed explicit acceptance of this data usage.

Data governance

The Data Controller for the Sponsor Engagement Tool is the Department of Health and Social Care. This system is managed by NIHR CRNCC on behalf of the Data Controller.

The responsible manager within NIHR CRNCC for the Sponsor Engagement Tool is the Head of Research Operations

Security

CRNCC have a current ISO27001 certification, and provision of the Sponsor Engagement Tool falls within the scope of this. 

CRNCC review that the above controls are current and effective on at least an annual basis. This includes verification with DHSC as Data Controller.
