Welcome to the Primary and Community Care Research and Development Office

The Research Management service is based in NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board which is part of the Integrated Care System. We provide research management services for primary and community care in the western corridor of Clinical Research Network: East of England. The R&D office is funded in part by CRN: East of England to support NIHR studies.

Together with colleagues in Norwich we provide a central point of coordination, handling R&D confirmation for CRN: Eastern for primary and community care. The region covers:

  • Bedfordshire

  • Cambridgeshire

  • Peterborough

  • East & North Hertfordshire

  • Norfolk

  • Great Yarmouth & Waveney

  • North East Essex

  • Suffolk and

  • Community Services across CRN: East of England

The service can provide the following benefits to researchers:

Our helpful, friendly, informed and expert staff could help support you throughout the research study-cycle

  • Early discussions with investigators to plan and mitigate risks

  • HRA approval support

  • Support with IRAS submissions and general research support

  • Working to national target timelines for processing research projects and amendments

  • Signposting NIHR support

  • Research bids

  • Funding for NIHR bid writing

  • Research passports

  • Training and advice

Our remit is to support the set-up and initiation of primary and community care research. We are here to help researchers navigate research regulatory submission processes efficiently.

We also provide R&D services under the auspices of NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB:

  • Hosting NIHR grants and contracts

  • Sponsorship

  • Administering research capability funding for the ICB

We have developed this website as a tool for researchers to access relevant information and to seek support and advice.

We work in partnership with the Norfolk and Suffolk Primary and Community Care Research Office and the NIHR Clinical Research Network: East of England to provide a central point of coordination and management for research across CRN East of England region for NIHR Portfolio Studies.
