The R&D office has developed a flowchart to help researchers keep to timelines Programme Grants Flowchart
N.B. Researchers MUST liaise with Nicola Ward or Paloma Amigo on service support costs before grant submission. A costing template will help with attribution of costs. This is critically important for Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) funded studies as Annex A type B costs will draw on CRN resources.
All grant applications involving a partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB requiring authorisation are required to provide a full application a minimum of 3-4 weeks prior to the grant submission date. Please note it cannot be guaranteed that applications received after the bid panel date will be reviewed in time for the NIHR deadline. Please also note that it is not guaranteed that the Trust will commission and authorise a given research application.
Strategic fit
Evidence of support from service managers
Evidence of collaborative working in the bid
Compatibility of NIHR RfPB bid with organisational care pathways and service delivery
Financial implications of NIHR RfPB bid, and arrangements to secure NHS service support costs
ICB workload required (e.g. research sponsorship) and inclusion of a suitable R&D overhead
It is strongly advised that researchers engage with Dr Philippa Brice, Head of R&D (Tel 07814770151) at an early stage at the time of registration of intention to submit. This will facilitate the process and ensure there are no unexpected surprises. Don't forget the NIHR RDS advice service can support you in your submission.
