Right now just a list of parts we use to get pressurized air to cylinders
Takes power from the PCM and pressurizes into the output nozzle. Always comes with a one-way valve (pictured as the less shiny silver piece) to prevent air escaping. It cannot shut itself off after desired pressure is relesed, that instruction comes from the PCM with readings from the pressure sensor.
The mechanical action of the pneumatics system. Takes working pressure in the back input to pressurize the rear chamber, driving the piston foreword and exhausting the air in the forward chamber. To retract, it simultaneously pressurizes the front chamber and exhausts the rear. This is done through the manifold, which can direct pressure and expel exhaust.
Controlled through the solenoids, the manifold directs working pressure to or exhausts from tubes leading to pistons, controlling their extension/retraction.
Takes signal from the PCM and opens or closes channels on the manifold for air to pass.
Stores air at storage pressure (120 psi)
Senses pressure, relays to the PCM.
A spring-loaded brass piece for releasing air if the system becomes over-pressurized. (Do not rely on this, it is a backup system)
Directs air in fun and unique ways!
Easily directs air in fun and unique ways!
Used for depressurizing the system.
Will stop airflow from a tube fitting (substitute: lollypop)
Displays pressure; usually used for the storage ressure side of the system
Used for both stepping down the storage pressure to working pressure (at most 90 psi) and gauging the working pressure. The twisty piece controls desired pressure. Airflow would go left to right in the picture.
Carry air
Used to cut tubes. Lay the tube flat on the base and push the blade into it untill it is through. If the tube is not flat, it will cut uneaven and potentially cause problems.
Used to seal the threads of brass fittings to make them airtight. Whenever making a new joint, this tape must be used. Ask someone who knows how to use it to show you before using.
