Sketchbook Requirements 20
***As soon as you receive your sketchbook, take this sheet and staple/glue it to the inside of the front cover. As you complete each sketchbook requirement, LABEL THE CREATION WITH “EXPRESS” “EXPERIMENT” OR “EXPLORE”.
Your sketchbook is an integral part of your artistic process. It is a place to express, experiment and explore in a self-directed manner, all to be completed by final submission on January/ June 15!
Sketchbook should contain three sections:
The Brainstorming section will be a combination of rough sketches of each of your projects (layout, measurements, medium, etc) that will be presented to me prior to the actual beginning of the project in the form of a proposal, as well as a summary of your trials and tribulations during the project and ending with a final summary describing the project, its intended objectives and their feelings about it.
Various prompted sketches, medium experiments and research/ study pieces including Art history or Artist Research. Include at least (2x of Post-Modern Elements): Appropriation, Gazing, Hybridity, Text & Image, Juxtaposition, Layering, Recontextualizing, Representin' ----AND state a reflection of the sample you pick into Padlet.
At least 15 pages with their own sketches and medium experiments
Total of 25 pages at minimum are required for full marks. Art 20 students are encouraged to use the entire sketchbook as it will benefit your creative processes later in life. I welcome you to look at the Art 10 Sketchbook requirements if you need inspiration as to what I will expect. It should be a combination of expressing yourself, exploring objects, people and themes and experimenting with new materials or concepts.

REMEMBER TO GIVE EACH CREATION A TITLE and make Artist Notes reflecting on your process, thoughts, experiences.
