Sorting Shape Posters

1st Graders worked together to sort different shapes into groups of shapes that go together. 1st Graders discussed the different groups the shapes could belong to and labeled their groups. Some of the characteristics 1st Graders noticed were whether a shape had straight sides, curved sides, and the number of sides.

Joey and Audrey sorted their shapes into 4 groups: no sides, 3 sides, 6 sides, and 4 sides.

Janelle and Florentine sorted their shapes into 6 groups: 4 corners, 3 corners, only 4 sides, only 6 sides, only curved sides, and straight sides.

Micah and Alice sorted their shapes into 3 groups: no sided group, straight sided group, and 2 sided group.

Isabella and Mabel sorted their shapes into 3 groups: four sides, curved sides, and straight sides.

Luiz and Shayan sorted their shapes into 5 groups: 4 sides, 6 sides, 2 sides, 3 sides, and 0 sides.

Shuntaro and Harrison sorted their shapes into 5 groups: 6 straight sides, 0 sides, 1 straight side, 4 straight sides, and 3 straight sides.

Evie and Eliana sorted their shapes into 5 groups: curved sides, 6 sides, 4 sides, 3 sides, and round 0 sides.

Ryan and Jackson sorted their shapes into 4 groups: 4 sides, 3 sides, 6 sides, and curved sides.

Vialexa and Angella sorted their shapes into 4 groups: triangles-3 sides, hexagons-6 sides, 4 sides, and curved sides.
