Animal Museum

1st Graders worked very hard over the last few weeks, reading, researching, writing, and creating a diorama on their Log Habitat Animal. In class, 1st Graders picked an animal and/or insect who lives in or near a log habitat. Then the research began! 1st Graders used nonfiction books and online resources such as PebbleGo to collect information.

Where does the animal get food?

Where does the animal get water?

Where does the animal find shelter?

What adaptations does your animal have to help it survive in its habitat? (For example: How does the animal protect itself from enemies/predators? What does the animal have or do to help it find food?)

1st Graders took the information they found and wrote an All About book about their animal.

At home, students created a three-dimensional representation (diorama) of his/her animal in the animal’s habitat.

Getting to Know the Animals

1st Graders spent some time browsing books and PebbleGo to find animals they wanted to learn more about!
