Reflections in Space

Across the dimensions

we touch,

hearts beating in time,

forever united,

forever apart.

We are like stars dancing

too close for comfort,

irrevocably drawn together

by gravity,

unable to resist its pull,

damned to collide.

Nebulae swirl and give birth,

new suns sparking around us,

catalysts filled with

fresh hope,

but we remain,

static.

Minds outstretched,

reaching, dreaming, hoping,

kindling a light of our own

to bridge the great divide.

Reflections in space reveal

times we met,

united, forged

something,

a first contact at last,

burned away

by the truth of starlight.

Separated by a barrier

we cannot see,

we are

trapped

forever together,

forever apart.
