Sometimes we have to insert large images into the application. Unfortunately, large images which are more than 3MB can substantially take time to get inserted to the application as it needs faster Internet bandwidth.
Adding one large image to the application is not really an issue. But if you have to insert multiple images/lots of images, you can easily end up with a problem, some images may load and some may not.
It may take longer duration to load, Not everyone has same access speed.
There's a chance where images getting corrupted in the file save or file loading stages.
Large images take up excess space. Say, if you are trying to download a large image using a mobile phone. You may not be able to download.
What you may not realize is you can use compression softwares which compresses a large image to fit, that can be easily inserted to the applicaion.
This guide instructs you about how to do image compression (Image file size reduction) and Load it to Stppeify application.
There are few softwares which can help you to do image compression
PIXresizer, JPEG Compressor, ImageMagick

Download and Install any one software of your choice
Open the software,
If you want to work with just one image, Select Work with one file
Load the image of choice
Select the new size for the image, You can compress the pixels size by 100%, 75%, 50%, 33% and 25%. Also custom size can be done
Instagram landscape dimensions recommended: 1080px x 566px
According to Twitter, 1200 pixels wide by 675 pixels tall (16:9 aspect ratio) is the ideal Twitter image size for displaying your image fully on mobile
We recommend you to Compress by 33% or 25% or 1024px x 728px (custom size)
Select the file format as JPEG. This will output the image in JPEG format
Save the picture into the directory of your choice

Step 2. Select new size
Step 3. Select file format
Step 4. Save picture
Open the software,
If you want to work with multiple Images, Select Work with multiple files
Select the source directory in which you have images that has to be compressed
Select the destination directory to which your compressed images has to go
Select the new size. You can select equal width or equal height
We recommend you to Set the size of the larger dimension to 1000
Select the file format as JPEG. This will output the compressed images in JPEG format
In the save pictures, Give a tick to Enlarge if needed
click on the Save pictures button and you will have the compressed images in the destination directory within few seconds

Open the software,
Click on File and select Compress single file
Browse and select the file which has to be compressed
Say open and you will have a new image file in the same directory

Go to File, select open and browse your image of choice to be compressed
You can compress the size of the image by Original size, Half size, Double size
You can compress by going to View. There is also an option called resize in view where you can describe new height and new weight and select okay
We recommend you to select the resize option and compress by 1024px W x 728px H
You can save the compressed image by going to file, select Save as, give it a new name and save as Common image files
You can also select just save to save the file but it will override the original image.
we recommend you to always have a duplicate of the image and then try compressing

Step4. Always do SAVE AS
Any image that has to be added to school website image gallery or any gallery (either Class/Student) image gallery, it is recommended to upload it via IMAGE REPOSITORY Feature, This helps in managing images for school resources,
You can go to options in the navigation bar as an admin select Photo/video/resources and choose image repo
To load an image click on Load image button
After loading image of choice to Image repository, You can click on copy to copy Original(link) and use it across the application(card image, resource image, gallery image etc)
