Around 80 million students across India begin their day with a ride in a school bus everyday. Looking at the size and scope of the school transportation industry, it should come as a surprise that this extremely large sector has nearly been overlooked by automation and technology institutions, with almost no penetration of technology or reforms since past few years.

Student’s safety and coordination have always presented transport managers, school bus authorities and parents with an array of challenges and responsibilities. On the other hand parents have to struggle to reach at the bus stop in due course everyday, and restlessly wait for the school bus to arrive, without any clue about the movement of the school bus.

The problems being faced by the school bus managers and the parents can, to a large extent, be solved by installing a simple GPS device in the school buses.

Enable safe and secure transportation:

One of a school’s first and most important responsibility is to ensure that those students reach their destination safely and on time. A GPS enabled transport system will allow the school authorities to track and monitor the school buses in real time. Such information will allow them to take timely and effective actions in case of any untoward incident.

Help parents reduce waiting time at school bus stops:

Parents have to struggle to reach at the bus stop in due course every morning and afternoon, and then anxiously wait for the school bus to arrive; without having any clue of its movement. The conditions get worse when faced with unfavourable weather conditions. These kind of situations often create a state of panic and disappointment among the parents. A GPS tracking app allows parents to track their kid’s school bus in real time, thereby, saving their precious morning time. And even if they miss the school bus by any chance, they are aware of its location and hence, act accordingly.

Bus routes, stops, passengers are managed by Admin.

Bus route details, Vehicle tracking, Pick up and drop report are shown inside of bus route which can be viewed from GPS Tracking tile under Admin options

STEPS TO TRACK BUS

Login to Stppeify ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Track Bus GPS tile in other menu options
You should be able to see all the Bus routes
To view a bus route, click on the dialog button and open it
The route will have all the route information, Stop code, Stop name, Stop number, pickup time, drop time and charges
To Start a trip, you need to click on start trip button. This will record start time. You can notify and start
You can message/send a note to the people in route. Could be about delay, change of route

STEPS TO MANAGE GPS DEVICE/S

Login to Stppeify ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options menu on the home screen and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Manage GPS
To add a single GPS device, click on Add GPS device button
To insert bulk data using excel-like interface click on use excel format to update, check status as I to insert, status as true, device code, device name, IMEI, sim number
To load click on update application button
To check the existing or loaded data, click on Load application data button

STEPS TO MANAGE VEHICLE/S

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Manage Vehicle
To add a single vehicle, click on Add Vehicle button
To insert bulk data using excel-like interface click on use excel format to update, check status as I to insert, status as true, vehicle code, vehicle registration number, make of vehicle, model, capacity, insurance, service done on date
To load click on update application button
To check the existing or loaded data, click on Load application data button

STEPS TO CREATE BUS ROUTE

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Manage routes to Load/add Routes
To add a single bus route, click on add button
Give all the details such as route code, year, description, bus number, GPS device and click on insert

STEPS TO LOAD BUS STOPS

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Manage stops to Add/load Bus stops/list of locations
To add a single stop, click on add button, type all the details and say insert
To insert data in bulk using excel-like interface, say check as I, BusStop code must be unique for each stop, Stop name, Map Coordinates of stop, charges/prices per month
To load click on update application button
To check the loaded data click on Load application data button

STEPS TO LOAD BUS PASSENGERS TO BUS ROUTE

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Select Manage routes by clicking on goto button and choose details button in the tabs
You should be able to see Students and staff buttons. Click edit student button to load
To insert say check as U, Give details of student ids, Student names, bus stop code, fee id and say update application. In order to edit /load data to existing route, click on load application data, add a row below and paste new data details and say update application
To check the loaded data/existing data in route, click on Load application data button

STEPS TO LOAD BUS SUPPORT STAFF

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Select Manage routes by clicking on goto button and choose details button in the tabs
You should be able to see Students and staff buttons. Click edit staff button to load
To insert say check as U, Give details of employee ids, employee names, bus stop code, fee id and say update application. In order to edit /load data to existing route, click on load application data, add a row below and paste new data details and say update application
To check the loaded data/existing data in route, click on Load application data button

STEPS TO LOAD ROUTE STOPS

This is to load particular stops in a Bus route, Stop details, Pick up drop timings

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Bus routes and you should be able to see three buttons below(route, stops and coords)
Click on edit stops button
To insert say check as I, Give unique codes for Bus route, current academic year, bus stop code, bus stop name, pick up and drop timings, stop number and say update application to load. You can find stop name and codes under manage stops
To check the loaded data click on Load application data button

STEPS TO SEARCH FOR A NEARBY ROUTE

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options (tiles) and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Choose Route search to search a closest route to a coordinate
Enter location
Click on search route button
Nearest route will be shown

STEPS TO CHECK ALL THE ROUTES

Login to Stppeify using ID that has access to Bus route management
Go to Other options menu on the home screen and click on Other menu
Select option “Bus route management”. You will be redirected to Bus route Management.
Click on Manage routes to check all the routes that are defined
