Canva is a free, online design platform that allows students to easily create visually engaging presentations. With a wide range of templates, graphics, and text tools, students can customize slides to suit any subject or project, or can import their own PowerPoint or Google Slides templates.
In addition to designing, Canva also offers a recording feature that enables students to add voiceovers and record themselves presenting directly within the platform. This makes it an excellent tool for creating polished, professional presentations for assignments, group projects, or virtual classrooms.
We've included a video tutorial showcasing how to create your own video presentation with Canva. Check it out! For more resources, visit the Canva Help page.
Zoom is a video conferencing tool that students can use to record presentations, either live or solo.
By starting a Zoom meeting alone, you can share your screen to display slides or other materials and use the record feature to capture both your presentation and your voice. This is especially useful for practicing public speaking, creating class assignments, or submitting virtual presentations.
Once recorded, the video can be saved locally or to the cloud, making it easy to review, edit, or share with teachers and classmates.
Check out our video tutorial for recording a presentation using Zoom for a more in-depth guide! For more information on logging into your student Zoom account, check out our Zoom Basics & Navigation page.
Students can use Echo360's Universal Capture to record video presentations that include their screen content, voice narration, and optional webcam feed. Universal Capture will need to be installed first, so please refer to the UC Requirements to make sure your computer is compatible and the UC Installation Instructions to download the application and use for recording.
After downloading and installing Universal Capture, you will be prompted to log in. Students should search for their Naz email address. Note: Echo360 will not recognize the "@mail.naz.edu" domain, so be sure to use "@naz.edu."
The page will then redirect you to the Nazareth University login portal, where you will log in with your MyNaz credentials.
We've included a video tutorial that will guide you through the UC navigation and process of recording with Echo360.
Upon completion of your recording, it will be uploaded into the Echo360 Library. Once it is finished uploading, a pop-up will display the link for you to access the video. You will then be prompted to log in to Echo360 in a browser. Using your MyNaz credentials, you will be directed to your video recording.
Your mobile device can be a convenient and powerful tool for completing video assignments as well. If you're giving an in-person presentation, you can use your phone or tablet to record yourself delivering it.
Mobile devices are also great for capturing other types of video assignments, such as demonstrations, reflections, interviews, or creative projects. Most smartphones come with a built-in camera app, making it easy to record and review your video, as well as a built-in screen recorder.
Once recorded, you can upload the file to platforms like YouTube or Google Drive to share with your instructor, depending on the assignment instructions. For more information on uploading and submitting, see Submitting Video Assignments.
