Culturally Responsive Teaching

We believe that every student has something from their culture to contribute to the classroom. The diversity that EL students bring to our schools should be seen as an enriching asset, and these students should be evaluated in a way that celebrates their accomplishments over any perceived deficits. Everyone has a cultural perspective, and teachers and administrators should try to be conscious of their own perspectives and values when designing and implementing both instruction and academic policies.

In schools, there are countless ways we can consider culture when planning classroom instruction and routines.
