This page details the SMCCCD Sustainability Team's current projects, updated on a quarterly basis.
Fall 2024 marked the beginning of the Zero Waste Ambassadors program at SMCCCD! The Susty team hosted trainings for the first cohort of ambassadors who will now assist the District community with waste management activities to help us reach our Zero Waste goals.Â
The Cesar Chavez garden, native plant areas, biology curiculum, and outreach events such as Earth Fest helped CSM earn the honor of being certified as a Bee Campus once again!
Molly Munson joined the Susty team in September as the new Zero Waste Fellow. She is looking forward to supporting the District's initiatives to advance circularity and improve resource management practices through campus engagement and education.
The summer the susty team created a Zero Waste orientation video to help students understand the importance of proper waste sorting and how to do it themselves!
