• Asynchronous Courses: We are able to access the content for these asynchronous courses through our participation in the WASA Inclusionary Practices Project and the ESD. • Book Studies: Several book studies have been offered at school sites across the district. Please ask your administrators or instructional coach if there are upcoming opportunities at your school site.

Learn More About the WASA Inclusionary Practices Project

The WASA Inclusionary Practices Project has partnered with Novak Education for facilitation and professional development throughout the three years of the project. The goals of the WASA Inclusionary Practices Project are to:

• Understand the connection between inclusive practice, MTSS, equity work, and UDL.

• Understand the research on implementation science and how it will impact your district improvement journey.

• Recognize barriers to “one-size-fits-all” design and learn how to eliminate barriers through flexible pathways.

• Understand and articulate the difference between content goals and methods goals and the implications for UDL.

• Be able to articulate the core components of UDL: variability, firm goals, and expert learning and why they are critical for building inclusive and equitable classrooms.

Learn More About the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project

The AESD Inclusionary Practices Project supports coordinated professional learning for school leadership teams. The project’s purpose is to support educators and school leaders with developing and implementing sustainable systems, structures, and practices that support all students with meaningful access and engagement in inclusive learning environments.  The goals of the AESD Inclusionary Practices Project are:

• More students in general education classrooms for more time.

• More effective teacher instruction.

• Better student engagement and communicative competence.

• Increased state support for inclusive practices.

Novak Education Courses for 2023-2024

This opportunity provides a choice between either a 10 or 30-hour asynchronous course. Each person who registers for a course will receive a copy of UDL Now!: A Teacher's Guide to Applying Universal Design for Learning in Today's Classrooms as a resource. After registering, please email Holly Carter to receive your book.

To participate in any of these courses please register through pdEnroller AND enroll through the Novak Education.

2. Select "Sign Up" under the regular price option.

Please note: If you are interested in adding to the final project you can add it at any time through the link provided within the course module.

• Intro to UDL Micro-Course is a 10-hour course, if you register and complete the final project - you will receive 1 graduate credit + 5 additional continuing education hours. The final Project/Grad Credit cost is $75.

• UDL Now! is a 30-hour course. Those interested in doing the final project will receive an additional 15-hour certificate as well as 3 graduate credits from the school of their choice. The final Project/Grad Credit cost is $200.
