2 VR headsets - used with the bluetooth controllers for FPV (First Person View) flight mode. Requires a mobile device, such as the Android phone (available from the Discovery Center). In FPV mode, you control the drone using a controller and view using the drone's build in camaer - so your view is as if are in the pilot's seat
Each battery lasts 8 minutes or less (have multiple batteries charged and ready to switch)
User must have the Drone Blocks app installed to code. The drone connect via WiFi to Chromebook or tablet or phone
Connection tips - open DroneBlocks app
Tap “Connect to Tello” in right corner
(don’t tap blue Connect button yet)
Power on Tello (button on side) and go
to devices WiFi and select the Tello hotspot
Return to DroneBlocks app and select “Connect”
Select New Mission, write code, ⇒ “Launch Mission”
If it does not work, power off drone and start again
The iOS Tello app or Android Tello app allows the recording of photos, video, BT remote and heads-up VR flying
When replacing a propeller, be sure to use the correct propeller - there are two different models with different pitch to the blades (look for arched lines on top of the propellers near the center hub)

Challenge students to fly a specific courses to accomplish a task. Such as fly over a "mountain" and through a valley pass to delivery supplies to an person who has been injured (Lego person)
Code the drone to "dance" and as a challenge - do it with more than one drone at the same time

As of January 2023, Google will no longer be supporting Chrome Apps on Windows, Mac, and Linux. This includes the DroneBlocks Chrome App Extension. Until January 2023 the DroneBlocks Chrome App will remain functional but will prompt on launch regarding the end of support. The DroneBlocks Chrome Extension will still function on ChromeOS, we do however recommend transitioning to DroneBlocks App on the Google Play Store. If you are using Windows, the new DroneBlocks App is available in the Microsoft Store.
Tello EDU drone - has not always worked with DroneBlocks ~ the DroneBlocks developers recommend you get the standard Tello Drone - as the EDU version is not needed for DroneBlocks
