  • Make it fun - use a gift bag so what they get is a surprise (even allow them to trade if desired)

What you need

• • Items to take apart. Ask your other teachers, visit garage sales or thirft stores (they'll often give it you for free), dumpster dive, encourage students to bring in broken items from home (with parent's permission)

  • Be sure to properly dispose of disassembled items

  • Save parts for future “maker” projects

  • Consider using glue guns to create objects from what you have taken apart
