DP2 - Interim Reflection Session
Interdisciplinary extended essays are opportunities for you to explore the connections between different subjects (specifically, two DP subjects.) Research in these essays draws on the knowledge and methods from two fields throughout your investigation.
"In interdisciplinary study, students integrate knowledge and modes of thinking from two or more disciplines to gain a deeper understanding of an issue. Crucially, they would have been unable to gain this understanding if they only looked at the issue from the perspective of one of the disciplines."
(World Studies Extended Essay Guidance, Link)
An interdisciplinary investigation into an issue of contemporary global importance ("contemporary" in this case meaning "in your lifetime," and ideally your middle- or high-school years.)
"A literature and performance extended essay (EE) gives students an opportunity to explore in detail the relationship between a written text and its performance. Students are able to focus on the transformation from one form to another and examine the creative and critical relationship that exists between both."
In order to do an interdisciplinary essay, you need a supervisor who is WILLING and ABLE to take this on with you. Work with Tr. Larry to determine who the best person might be.
*Does not necessarily need to be a subject you currently study, either, but let's talk about that on a case-by-case basis.
