DP1 Students: IA Engagements!
See that painting at the topi of the page? That's Hieronymous Bosch's famous painting, "Hell." It depicts people suffering and being tortured for eternity. Do you know what the difference is between this painting and Paper 2?
Paper 2 has a time limit :)
This is the more difficult of the two Global Politics exams, but that doesn't mean it's crazy hard or impossible to do well. It's just a tough, stressful test, but you can sail through it smoothly with good preparation and practice.
This is an essay-based test. SL students must write TWO essays (1 hr and 45 minutes) while SL students need to write THREE essays (2 hrs 45 minutes.) The HL exam is the longest IB exam that currently exists, so congrats to you guys: literally everything else will seem easier.
The good news is you get some choice on this exam. There are TWO questions provided from each of the four units (so eight choices total.) Each essay that you write must be on a question from a different unit; this means SL students write about two units, while HL students write about 3.
This exam is very similar to what your classmates taking History will have, but you actually get more time per essay. Yay!
