French

Novice French I

This course is designed for the beginning student of French. The audio-lingual skills of listening and speaking receive major emphasis. Reading and writing of material mastered orally are begun. Cultural concepts are developed in relation to France, other French-speaking countries and French influence on life in the United States.

Novice French II

This course builds on what has been previously learned. There is a continued emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The student will continue to develop cultural concepts and understanding through independent research projects.

Novice French III

Advanced French continues to develop the four language skills: listening, speaking reading and writing. Free expression in the spoken and written form is developed and encouraged with the ultimate goal of conducting the class completely in French. The study of French geography, history, literature and customs is continued.
