Visual Art

The Art program offers a wide choice of specific studio courses in both two and three - dimensional media. Emphasis is placed equally on design, creativity, a serious attitude and technical competence. Students are challenged to reach high levels of proficiency. Since students work at different speeds and levels, instruction is individualized to a high degree. The program is process-oriented and emphasizes those skills learned in all the facets of the school, academic as well as aesthetic. As art is not created in a vacuum, reading, math and writing are often a necessary part of the process of creation.
