(Full Year) Program provides academic support to students in grades 6-8 in language arts. Students are identified for the program based on: report card grades, standardized test scores (from the previous year in language arts), diagnostic data, along with teacher recommendation. Students are selected for the program at the end of each academic year to receive services from September to June of the next school year or until the exit criteria for the class is met. Students identified for Literature Lab will have classes with certified teachers in Language Arts. This class is in addition to their regularly scheduled House Language Arts class.
(Full Year) This program provides academic support to students in grades 6-8 in mathematics. Students are identified for the program based on: report card grades, standardized test scores (from the previous year in math), diagnostic data, and teacher recommendations. Students identified for Math Lab classes will work with certified teachers in mathematics. This class is in addition to their regularly scheduled House Math class. Students take this course full year or until exit criteria is met.
(Full Year) This multi-sensory reading course is designed to support students in developing foundational literacy skills through a structured, explicit, and systematic instructional approach grounded in the Orton-Gillingham methodology. Using visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile learning strategies, students will strengthen their phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, and reading comprehension skills. Instruction is individualized and paced to meet students’ unique learning needs while building confidence and independence as readers. Through engaging, hands-on activities and consistent skill reinforcement, students will develop the tools and strategies necessary for greater success across all academic areas. Students will be identified through diagnostic data and teacher recommendations.
