Philosophy Statement
Glenfield Middle School is committed to cultivating the gifts and talents of our adolescent students with sensitivity to their developmental, intellectual and creative needs. The school’s responsibility is to stimulate the intellectual development and fulfill the emotional and physical needs of the children. The school views all children as having special gifts and talents and it provides experiences for each child to explore these attributes through the academics and the related and academic arts programs.
Arts Philosophy Statement
It is our belief that the arts have intrinsic value and make unique contributions to culture, society and the lives of individuals. Participation in the arts is a valuable part of life and should be cultivated. When you combine the arts with other subjects, students enhance and develop problem solving abilities and higher order thinking skills. The arts allow for connections with all subject areas and provide students with the ability to reason and to make decisions and judgments. Moreover, the arts bring satisfaction, joy and excitement to the learning process.
