Overview
If you already have a contract in place and need to make changes, please use the AP Form and select 'Contract Amendment' as the expense type.
Project Directors are notified via Netsuite when contracts are nearing their end date or have 10% or less of their original amount available for payment. When extending a contract, it is best practice to execute an amendment before the end of the initial contract period.
Amount: You may wish to change the maximum amount able to be paid on an existing contractor.
Please note that there must be a justification for increasing the amount of a contract, such as a new scope of work or lengthening of the contract period. MSC advises against increasing the contract amount if the contractor has not met their original deliverables.
Term: You may wish to change the term of the contract.
Please note that there must be a justification for extending the term of a contract, such as additions to the scope of work or the intention for the contractor to continue the same work over a subsequent period of time. MSC advises against extending contract terms if the contractor has not met their original deliverables.
Scope of Work: You may wish to make changes to the work you are asking the contractor to perform.
When adding new work or changing the scope of work, please ensure that the new scope still meets the criteria for a contract, rather than an employment relationship.
