The way that we used line was to make the wale pop of the page and stand out. The way we used value to make the baby wale have a darker color because the ocean was deeper and darker. Shape: we used organic shapes to make the wales look like something not man made. Color: we used black oil pastels to make the sky really pop out of the picture. Space: We tryed to make the baby wale look like it was behind them mama wale. Texture: we used hot glue to make the wales bumps stick of the page. Form: we used a bunch of organic shapes to make a wales. The things we used were sharpie, hot glue, water color, oil pastel and paint pen.
My inspiration for this art work was the 5 minute drawings. The theme that I am trying to express is that artwork can be fun and goofy. The materials I used were, paper and sharpie. I choose sharpie because it would make the drawing pop of the page. I used line, shape and space. I don't think that this has and meaning typed to me, it was a goofy drawing that was fun to draw. I hope my viewers think that art can be lots of fun and dose not have to be perfect.
In this project we made a river otter that lives in the Colorado river. Some of the inspiration for the art was that it had to be in the river. Also, how much I see river otters on the Colorado river. Some of the emotion we were trying to express was thing like how important river otters are to the river. We used a lot of materials they were, hot glue, card board, paint, tissue paper and paper machete. In this project we did not get to choose are materials. The elements of art that we used were, color, texture, form and value. I think that personal significance that my art work holds of me is my love for animals and the river and just being outside. I hope that viewers understand that art work in important to make even if you are not good at it, to get your point across to the people. Also I hope they feel like animals are important.
This is my artist statement: My story is about my 12th birthday when we went to Silver Star Hut up in La Plata canyon. I made this book sculpture to show what it looked like out of the big bay windows that we looked out from where we slept on the second story of the hut. The visual elements that I used to represent my story were the fairy lights to represent the scary glow of the stars and the moon. Also the trees without leaves because it felt like the trees were staring into our soul. In the future I think that I would fix the right side so that it did not stick out like it does. Something that I think that I did well was working the fairy lights and making the trees stand up with a lot less hot glue than I would usually have to use. I think that overall I did a really good job and learned a lot about making sculptures.
