Suicide Awareness and Crisis Hotlines

SUICIDE PREVENTION

Sometimes things in life may seem hopeless. If you have thought about harming yourself in any way, please reach out as soon as possible.  You are not alone.  There is help available. You can contact a friend, a parent, a teacher, or a School Counselor.

SAFE UTAH APP

Click here to download the Safe Utah app. The Safe UT Crisis Text and Tip Line app provides 24/7 access to crisis counseling or tip reporting for youth in the state of Utah. After installing the app you can connect directly to the UNI Crisis Line or anonymously report a confidential tip on bullying, school threats of violence, or concern about someone in crisis. Crisis Line staff can assist with a wide variety of problems, including emotional crisis, grief and loss, drug and alcohol problems, mental health issues, self-harm, and suicidal behavior.

HOW TO HELP

You might have a friend or family member who has talked with you about being suicidal and you want to help, but you aren’t sure how.  You don’t want them to be upset and you don’t want “to get them in trouble” or “tattle on them”.  First, they are talking about it because they want help.  Second, talk to any trusted adult to get your friend the help they need: a parent or relative, a close family friend, a teacher or counselor, etc.

SUICIDE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS

Please join Mrs. Emett and Mrs. Wurm from the Counseling Department as they discuss Suicide Prevention and Awareness.  This is a topic we can all benefit from learning more about to help keep our children, families, neighbors and communities safe.
