Red Cedar has reddish-greyish bark. Its branches are scale-like pine needles. The needles are a green-yellow color. They turn brown when the leaves start to shed. The leaves can stay for 3-4 years. The tips of the needles are edible, they can be used for medicine. These trees can grow up to 60 meters tall, they can live for 1000 years. The cones are brown, and egg shaped, with 8-12 scales.
