Eelgrass is a green ribbon-like plant that stretches to lengths of 4 feet long. Zostera Marina, or Eelgrass is a carbon eating plant that lives in high energy environments, estuaries, bays, shallow waters.
Zostera marina was used for smoking meat and the rhizomes were known as a food. Because Zostera marina is non-flammable so it was known as a synthetic fiber. It was used as housing material, like mattress fluff and insulation. Zostera marina is normally harvested during low tide, using scissors or shears to cut the long ribbon like plant. Zostera marina is a very old study of the plant, it is found that it was first discovered around eight to twenty million years ago!
Zostera Marina, or Eelgrass is a carbon eating plant that lives in estuaries, bays, shallow waters, or meadows. Eelgrass spreads from Alaska to Baja California. The Eelgrasses physical description is quite simple, just imagine grass blades, except 4 feet long and moving like hair underwater. Zostera Marina is one of the things that help cancel out ocean acidity due to its photosynthesis, carbon eating body.
