The Monash University Accommodation Residents' Committee (ResComm) strives to develop, promote and deliver residential programs that benefit the wider residential community. Membership comprises the 6 resident-elected Executive team- whose members must be current students living on campus- along with the Hall Society Presidents and one high-performing Resident Advisor (RA) from each hall selected by the Residential Life Staff. This leads to a committee best placed to ensure that events and initiatives are designed with residents in mind.
Some previous events led by the Residents' Committee have included the Residents' Ball and the Blood Drive. Outside of their events, the Resident Committee will often be tasked with advising the Monash University Accommodation leadership team on communications, programs, initiatives, and, where relevant, regulatory changes to ensure they cover all aspects of the resident experience.
The committee formally meets monthly, and all members are encouraged to contribute ideas, feedback, or suggestions to the group. Membership on the committee is a rewarding experience that can help build employability skills.
