Residential RAs provide support, foster engagement, and contribute to the development of their Hall residents. Most RAs at MRS are Residential RAs, and this is likely the role you're familiar with.
If you're an exceptional student and a good communicator and enjoy being the go-to person for information and advice, becoming an RA is one of the best ways to develop your own leadership skills and make a positive contribution to the community.
A small number of RAs who facilitate events, initiatives and programs for the entire MRS community. There are generally two RAs for each central role portfolio. This role runs from January to October, with a monthly rental rebate from February to November.
Portfolios include:
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Environment & Sustainability
Gender Equality
Sports & Wellbeing
Pride Community
Holding both scholarships
You can simultaneously hold a Central RA and a Residential RA scholarship, each with a half-scholarship benefit.
Applying for multiple roles
You can only apply for one Residential RA position. If you are unsuccessful in gaining an RA position in the hall you applied for and you want to be considered for other residences, you can indicate this later in the application form.
You can apply for multiple Central RA positions.
Submitting an RA application does not replace the need to apply for accommodation at MRS.
To live on-campus next year, apply for accommodation as soon as applications open at 9am on 1 September. We encourage you to set a reminder to ensure you apply on time. You will also receive email reminders closer to the date.
