2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ் TDP திட்டத்தில் உயர்நிலை 2 மற்றும் உயர்நிலை மூன்று மாணவர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர். இந்த வருட திட்டத்தின் நோக்கம் செய்தி மொழிபெயர்ப்பு (News Translation). மாணவர்களுக்கு முதல் மற்றும் இரண்டாம் பருவத்தில் தமிழ் முரசு நாளிதழில் செய்திகள் எவ்வாறு இடம்பெறுகின்றன? செய்தி எழுதுவதற்கான முக்கிய கூறுகள் குறித்த பயிற்சி பட்டறை நடத்தப்பட்டன. அதைத்தொடர்ந்து மூன்றாம் பருவத்தில் ஆங்கில செய்தித்தாள்களில் இடம்பெற்ற சில செய்திகளை எவ்வாறு தமிழ்மொழிக்கு மொழிபெயர்க்க வேண்டும் என்றும் அதற்குப் பின்பற்ற வேண்டிய அம்சங்கள் குறித்தும் பயிற்சி பட்டறைகள் நடத்தப்பட்டன.  இதன்மூலம் மாணவர்களுக்குச் செய்திதுறை பற்றிய அறிந்துகொள்ளக்கூடிய வாய்ப்பும் பள்ளிப்படிப்பை தாண்டி செய்தித்துறை பற்றிய அறிவையும் வளர்த்துக்கொண்டனர்.  இறுதியில் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு போட்டி நடத்தப்பட்டது.  மூன்றாம் பருவத்தின் கடைசி வாரத்தில் மற்ற பள்ளி மாணவர்களுடன் குவீன்ஸ்வே உயர்நிலை மாணவர்கள் இணைந்து மொழிபெயர்ப்புப் போட்டியில் பங்குகொண்டனர். குவீன்ஸ்வே மாணவர்கள் தங்கள் குழுவில் இணைந்துள்ள மற்ற பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கு தாங்கள் அறிந்திருந்த மொழிப்பெயர்ப்பு நுணுக்கங்களை மற்ற மாணவர்களுடன் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டனர். இந்தப் போட்டியில் பங்குபெற்ற மற்ற பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் சென்றனர்.

2023 - TDP

தமிழ்மொழியில் (TDP) திட்டத்தில் இணையும் மாணவர்கள் தமிழ் மொழியில் சிறந்து விளங்குவதோடு, பாரம்பரியம், கலாச்சாரம் குறித்தும் மேம்படுத்திக்கொள்வதற்கு பல்வேறு வாய்ப்புகளைப் பெறுகின்றனர். மேலும் மாணவர்கள் ஆண்டு முழுவதும் மற்ற பள்ளிகளுக்குச் சென்று தமிழ்மொழி சார்ந்த போட்டிகளில் கலந்துகொண்டு தமது திறமைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவர். TDP திட்டத்தில் இணையும் மாணவர்களுக்குத் தமிழ்மொழி சார்ந்த சிறப்புப் பயிற்சிகளும் வழங்கப்படும்.

The Tamil Talent Development Programme (TDP) enables students to showcase their talent outside the classroom in the tamil language by encouraging them to speak in tamil and bring them to tamil related learning journeys and workshops.

During this time, we were able to create great friendships and learn more about our culture and our language. We also attend many competitions in which some of our students win. Our focus in our Tamil TDP is not just winning, but is also to learn and gain knowledge. 

 During TDP sessions this year, we did many fun activities which include our practice sessions for our ‘Book Talks’ which happen once in a while, around once in two months. The point of our ‘Book Talks’ is to read a book and share the story to the rest of the school by narrating and acting. This builds our confidence and helps students with stage-fright overcome their fear. It also helps us build our oral skills such as talking in tamil. It also builds our story telling skills because we don’t have time to share the entire story sometimes so we would have to share a part of the story, and share it to the rest of the school in a way that might interest them. 

Being a part of the TDP is really fun and lifts the stress from school and academics off our shoulders. We also get to plan for Indian related celebrations.
