National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
NPCC is the largest uniformed group in Singapore. The school and HQ provide ample opportunities for all NPCC cadets to grow physically and mentally. They learn skills through a myriad of training programmes that emphasise several key learning aspects including law enforcement, National Education, leadership, resilience, personal development, character development as well as innovation and enterprise.
The NPCC unit in the school imparts useful life skills to all its cadets, helping them tackling problems in school and in the community. Community service projects such as the Police Youth Ambassador (PYA) Programme and the Community Safety and Security Programme (CSSP) instill civic and social awareness in the cadets. Competitions and HQ events, like the Bi-annual Camp Craft Competition and the annual area camps at Pulau Ubin (ATC and STC), not only expose the cadets to setbacks and difficulties but also teach them that no challenge would be too hard to conquer as long as they have the determination and perseverance.
The unit has done well for the past year and achieved Gold for the Overall Unit Proficiency Award. The award is to be shared with the past and present teacher officers, cadet inspectors and cadets. With a common goal in mind to develop the cadets and student volunteers holistically through programmes conducted by HQ and the unit, we look forward to making the CCA a sustainable NPCC family, rather than a mere CCA. Holding steadfast to its spirit of excellence, BDS NPCC will continue soaring towards greater heights.
