Now an official CCA, the Basketball Interest Group was started to allow all basketball lovers in Bedok South Secondary School to come together to train as a team in our free time. We also have the opportunity to make new friends with the same passion in basketball from the different classes and levels. Under the guidance of our teacher and basketball coach, Mr Joshua Tan, we are able to train our physical fitness and improve on our basketball skills and techniques. We have been participating in various friendly matches and National School Games since last year. It has been a great learning experience, allowing us to foster better team chemistry and boost our confidence level.

For me, playing basketball is a hobby and a way for me to keep fit. I joined Basketball Interest Group as I have always enjoyed playing basketball and I admire those players who are skilled in the game. Through this interest group, I have learnt many skills and techniques that I can apply when I am playing the game and I also have many good memories with the team.

I joined Basketball Interest Group because I have a passion for basketball. During basketball training, I learn to work as a team and my seniors teach me many new and useful basketball skills that I apply in matches and competitions to help us win. In the near future, I hope to play for Bedok South Secondary School along with my teammates in the National School Games (C Division) and win for the school.

The training in Basketball Interest Group is always tough. However, my seniors and my teacher/coach, Mr Joshua Tan, have made the training fun. Most importantly, I am able to learn new skills and make new friends. When I make a mistake during a match or drill, they would not blame it on me or scold me. Instead, they continue to encourage me not to give up and to do better.
